Being devoid of all form of natural snow, we rely on man-made wonders to feel the freeze. In this case, the Flower Dome in Gardens by the Bay. An air-conditioned conservatory, this dome is maintained at a cool temperature all year round to simulate a Mediterranean climate – no mean feat for an equatorial country. And if you can’t fathom why people like us like to shiver in air-conditioned places, at least there’s a seasonal light and flower display to warm your toes.
If you are in the vicinity, I heartily recommend a visit to Gardens by the Bay. The two conservatories are a bit expensive, but I can happily spend an entire afternoon lost in them.
